…and I’m amazed at how much it has made a difference to my ability to pipe the pipes. It’s like it has removed a whole lot of weight from my left arm and freed it up to relax into the chanter. Yeeehaaaaa!!!

I agree, David. I started using one some months ago and find that it provides just enough support to prevent the bag from wanting to slip down. How have you secured yours? Mine goes in between the bass regulator and the stock where there is a very small gap and then underneath the stock and over the left shoulder thereby providing the support. This gap is only 12mm wide x 3mm but fortunately a banjo playing pal is a leather worker so he made me a leather strap to exactly the correct sizes.
How have other strap users attached theirs?

I don’t think you’ve seen the one Brian Howard supplied for me. He makes a very elegant ring which fits around the stock and has two attachment points ( diametrically opposed ) for the strap. I only use one because I prefer a tenor saxophone strap around the neck. I’ll remind you when you next come to the Manchester club.
All I did was take the webbing waist strap that came with my CJ Dixon bellows kit. I didn’t use it for the bellows because I wanted to use the belt from my original bellows.
I simply hang the mainstock through it so the belt is positioned flush against the bag and tie-in area and put the belt over my shoulder and tighten the buckle to adjust the length if necessary. Does the job perfectly.

Yes, in my piping class during Willie Week [::sigh::] there was a man who used a guitar strap for his, it made me want to buy one so when I get my half set in Feb./March I can hook it on/up. I wonder… Would I be able to somehow use one with my practice set? I really don’t like it when my bag slips out under my arm..
