Zubivka had warned me that a pleasant surprise was just around the corner. When I checked my email a few minutes ago, there was a message from Michael Grinter announcing that the low F he is making for me is almost ready. So, in a matter of days, I shall be the proud owner of a new fipple flute and my first serious wooden instrument.
Some whistle makers seem to have developed a reputation for producing especially fine instruments in certain keys. My Copeland low D is, in my opinion, a wonderful instrument, and it certainly has lived up to the reputation that preceded it. Now, I have similar expectations of my Grinter. This is unquestionably the low F I’ve been wanting. Now, the wait is almost over.
Grintez vous?
