I’m not able to down load any of the ITM shows (Rolling Wave, Late Session, etc) on the RTE website. I can only stream them. Any suggestions?
Hi PJ!
An application like the “Mini stream ripper” should easily get the audio content from the .smil file and let you save it to your hard drive. I’m at work so I cant test it on the specific website so you will have to try it out yourself.
It’s free and you can download it here:

Thanks. I’ll give it a go this evening.
My daughter got a new MP3 player and I’ve inherited her old one. With the RTE programs being streamed, I can only listen to them one a week or so. If they were podcasts, I could listen to them during the daily commute.
Hi PJ!
I’m back home after work.
Tried the Mini Stream Ripper on the RTE site and it worked like a charm ![]()
Install, run the app, press the “load” button and paste the url to the program you want to ripp.
In the settings displayed you can choose to save the file in a multitude of audioformats, I only tried mp3.
Good radio shows btw, thanks for the tip ![]()
