Isla St. Claire in Tulsa

I’m planning on taking my mom to see Isla](http://www.tulsapac.com/events_detail.asp?id=10&subpage=9/1/2002%22%3EIsla) St. Clair and Her Ceilidh Band in a couple of weeks at the Tulsa PAC. Does anyone know anything about her? What can you tell me? What about her band? Specifically…is there a whistle involved?

Also, are any other Okies planning on going?

Kim

Well, I intended to take my mom but she went to Alaska instead!

Nobody else is planning on going, huh?

K

Hey Kim,

I sure wish I could go but I have a conflict.
I couldn’t find anything in the way of reviews of her work. Description of CDs but no reviews. If you go, let us know what you think.

Hello Kim

All I can tell you is that I love Isla St Clair’s voice. I am a better singer than I am a whistler and Isla’s CD “Heritage” was one of the things that turned me back on to songs and singing. Her voice is warm and pure and sweet (some people find it a little too sweet for some of the more robust Scottish songs. I have never seen her live (although she did kiss my dad on his baldy patch at a festival a few years ago!)

There is quite a lot on the web about her history and I would recommend anyone to go and see her.

I’m afraid I don’t know anything about the band. I did hear that she was touring with the Gordon Black Band and I have heard of them but don’t know their music (ceilidh dance music is not really my thing).

If you go, let us know how you liked it!
