All right ,it’s time to move up to the next flute after working the three piece Dixon to a frazzel.After listening to mp3’s {thanks James}and much cogitation I went to M&E’s website to see how to make payment to someone in another country.Micheal says just to send a check or money order with the order. Does any one know if he has a preference as to the kind of check or money order? In the past when I bought things online I paid with a Postal money order but that was always stateside business.
Can anyone clarify this for me?Or is it just send a personal check or Postal money order and be done with it?

On my order (some time ago, since sold), he accepted a personal check in U.S. dollars (in this case, sent after the flute arrived).

As a Dixon owner myself,I find it interesting that both you and Eric (Jayhawk) have recently decided to ‘move up the flute ladder’ but stick with Polymer flutes,- you with the M & E ‘R & R’, Eric with the Seery ‘Pratten’ model.
You MUST provide us with a side by side comparison clip of both flutes,when your ‘Rudall’ arrives.

I’m no good on advice here about ordering overseas, but his website does just say to send a personal check in US dollars so I’d take him at his word. He also does respond to emails…
But, I agree with Kevin that you need to post a comparison between the Dixon and the M&E R&R. I’ll post a Seery/Dixon comparison. I think comparisons to the Dixon are needed.
As for sticking with polymer, I don’t know about you, but my Dixon really sounds like a wooden flute and I like the durability (plus I’m lazy enough to enough the minimal maitainance).

When i bougth mine, i told Michael by email that i was sending a check, and he mailed me the flute immediately (i.e.: before he got my check). The flute arrived in the US in less than a week, in a padded envelope, through standard air mail. Michael and Glenn Schultz are the only people i know who would do something like this. I was very grateful.

I’ll be glad to offer an opinion {fwiw} as to perceived differences or similarities after the embouchure makes it’s adjustments.As to recordings- well, thats gonna hafta wait until one of my clunky old computers learns how to sing back what it hears.That is on the short list of projects.
Dithered between M&E and Seery for weeks.Liked’em both. Only flutes I’ve heard were my own or MP3’s on the 'net{west TN. is string instrument country}so maybe the M&E records better to my mediocre ears.
