Irish vs. Scottish sessions (in the US)

I recently discovered that a pub near me has an Irish session once a month and also a Scottish session once a month. The Scottish session is more convenient (read: earlier for the old fogie with a baby), and I’m wondering if there’s a big difference in the repertoire, etc. If so, who are the bands that play some of it?

Every Scottish session I’ve ever been to involved at least several sets of GH bagpipes (not all at once, thank goodness). Because of the instrument’s more limited range the repertoire was considerably different…only a couple of tunes that a person would probably recognize from an Irish session.
