Irish pub in Asheville, NC?

Hey all! My family and I are going to be in Asheville the week of Dec. 26 and I’d love to know if there are any Irish pubs there- especially ones that have live music or even sessions. Tks!!

I believe a pub named “Jack of the Woods” has a Sunday session but I don;t know if it’s still going. check out www.thesession.org and I think you’ll find several hits.

Asheville is a great place, btw. Some really top-knotch musicians up there too.

This North Carolina Sessions site lists:

Every Tuesday 8:30 PM till— at Hannah Flannagan’s Pub, 27 Biltmore Avenue Asheville, NC. Phone: 828-252-1922

Every Sunday afternoon 3:30 PM till — at > Jack of the Wood Pub> , 95 Patton Avenue Asheville, NC. Phone: 828-252-5445

Asheville’s a nice city; enjoy your visit!

Bartleby,
the Local session takes place at Jack of the Wood Patton Avenue on Sundays from 6:00(ish) to when ever we all pass out. We’d love to have you!

Jack of the Wood is a nice little pub, and is under a great vegitarian
resteraunt (Asheville and Boone are surprisingly hippified for NC).
The locally-brewed beer is pretty good at JotW, and they have lots
of live music even when there’s no session.

JUst to add. .. if anyobdy is looking for a session in central NC over the holidays we’re having one in Winston Salem on the evening of New Year’s Day. PM for details.

Tks. everyone for the replies! You’ve got me really looking forward to our trip to Asheville- now I think I’m going to take my instruments!

jdevereux, will the Sunday session meet on Sunday, Xmas Day? Will the pub be open? If so, I might even come up a day early!
