I brought a Copeland Soprano D and my Alba low C in to work today to show someone. When I played it out in the service garage it sounded really great. It really had the space there to sing out. I was actually shocked by it. The Alba sounded equally good in there. The garage is quite large with 20 foot celings. There are about 16 vehicle lifts and a full 2-lane service drive-through. It suddenly came to me that it would make a great place for a Traditional Music session. It’s pretty much empty at night and you can just drive your car in and park right there. I couldn’t host one right now because we’re in the process of cleaning it up, and in the midst of a busy time, but when later on I might could be talked into it if there’s enough interest. If any Atlanta area folks like the Idea, let me know.
I love playing flute in our shop when it’s not busy. The acoustics are such that I can play quietly and still fill up the whole space with sound. Shop sessions would be pretty cool.
But what about the pints? If after-hours consumption is permitted, there’s liability to consider. Oh, well…I suppose there are worse things than a dry session. Can’t think of any, right now, though. ![]()
I think it would just be BYOB actually. I’d have to think it out.
