With six evenly spaced equal size holes, it maybe an atonal scale, i.e. one full tone between holes. In this case, all depends whether half-holing sounds good; if answer is yes than you’d be closer to a fully chromatic (dodecaphonic…) whistle than with our familiar setup…

I hope no brown pelicans (a beautiful, majestic, and endangered species) are killed intentionally for these things.

If they are, I hope somebody points this out to the folks at E-Bay, since I think it’d be illegal to trade in items made form endangered animals.

So since it looks like it might not sound good, and may be the result of exploiting an endangered animal, I’d encourage folks not to buy the thing.

(I’m partial to pelicans, as you might guess. Have raised many an orphan, and rehabbed lots of adults, and they’re amazing, social animals.)
