In search of: 1 key Boxwood Flute

Around 5 years ago I sold a 1 key Boxwood Flute through a 3rd party. The Flute maker was anonymous. The Flute was marked “Dresden”, had ivory rings and was pitched at 440. It was one of the many of that type of Flute made in the early 19th century for the amateur musician. It was a nice little Flute and I could use it to play at Colonial reenactments. I would even give a finders fee :poke: to anyone that could help me find the Flute.

Hey Ben, maybe this it, from adjacent thread!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120431228869

in which case, it’s found it’s way to Virginia’s Beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Ahem!, about that ‘Finders Fee’ …

!!! Oh, dear. The seller’s “don’t know much about these” remark is dead on! If they said “plays great!” I might be a little suspicious.

LOL!! I thought the same. Now, he said that the key works just fine. How is it possible? Doh!

Good God…

well the flute doesn’t look like it’s rolling

Ah, maybe I’ll think about putting keys on my flute, I thought they were useless, but if they avoid the flute to roll on the table, it’s a great idea!

If EVER there were a rare and collectible woodwind, this is it!

Indeed!

nope, not it …although I had my hopes up when I saw all those postings
I am heartend however by all my fellow C&F Members that are on the look out for me
wouldn’t you think though its a C&F Member that owns the Flute?
maybe someone removed the key ,covered over the hole and stained it and its now living as a basic session Flute :astonished:

At last, a left-handed flute that doesn’t point the wrong way at the session!
