Boffins build cancer-spotting nanobelts

Georgia Tech

I had to look up “boffins”.

'cause ya ain’t British, eh?

Rather, old chap.

and here I thought it was something to keep Nano away.

Just something to help him keep his pants up  :stuck_out_tongue:

Or, for our British friends, his trousers. Even nanobelts do nothing to keep one’s underwear up.

P.S., does anyone else hear the Mr. Roger’s “F-R-I-E-N-D, special” song whenever they try to remember how to spell “friend”? I think I may go mad.

… don’t, there’s no future in it.

OK, now that I’ve actually read the article:

How the heck is something supposed to be quasi-one-dimensional?
I was pretty sure dimensionality was measured on an integer scale…

I am afraid that I don’t understand the problem with quasi-one-dimensional.
I think that they mean quite a bit thinner that pond scum!

I’m a pragmatist. If it’s “almost one-dimensional, but not quite”, then it’s bloody two-dimensional.

Point taken.

No, it’s the necessities of mundane living heaped up by neglect that do that, and as you can see, I’m BAAAAACK. Ha.

Stupid thing…and here I paid a fortune for it.

Maybe it’s all in how you wear your nanobelt, Izz? But I would have thought that a nanobelt was something more like those power cuffs that that one superheoess with the leotard, skimpy skirt, All-Star Wrestling belt, floridly curly black hair and B-movie “tiara” used to deflect bullets with.

Ah, yes. Wonder Woman, that’s it.

Mightn’t something like a string of electrons fit the bill?

That could be the problem…now that I look at it, it’s far more chintzy than WW’s belt was. But hey, they threw in some really cool bullet repelling bracelets with it, so I couldn’t resist.
