in a pub in north london

I went to a pub i used to go to a long, long time ago, famous for its sessions. There wasn’t much going on at first but there was irish music being played by a dj. I heard some of the classics: the chieftains, paul brady, na fili, donal lunny band etc, but what made me giddy was hearing the kesh set by the bothy band - it reminded me why i got involved in irish music in the first place. In the end a live amplified band took to the stage but it was too late for me - however, i caught a burst of wooden flute from sheena vallely and it was fantastic, great tone and volume, and clean, nimble fingering - i wish she or someone of her ilk would teach wooden flute at hammersmith irish cultural centre

Yes that would be good - she’s a good player haven’t heard of her recently - I think Hammersmith irish cultural centre is closing for redeveloping or something for approx 18-24 months more here :-
