i caught myself using uilleann fingerings on an off-topic instrument by accident. It is an off-topic instrument I haven’t played in awhile. For uilleann pipes, i’ve found this ancient proverb to become true:
“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny . . .”
I’m so glad your Uilleann Pipe fingering is becoming second nature to you.

sometimes I surly wonder about what our lady pipers think about comments like that. whatever happened to the “gentleman piper?”
I’ve just had more passion and interest for the uilleann pipes than the sax, er, off-topic instrument that I will not talk about. I think it sounds better and more worthwhile to play.
