Idiot's Book Review

I wanted a music theory reference book for all the stuff I used to know but have forgotten, particularly information on modes, chords, and chord progressions. All this stuff can be found at various locations on the web, but that’s not nearly as convenient as a book in which you know exactly where the various topics are located. Based on recommendations of people on this forum, I got The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Music Theory. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t expect it to contain everything I needed, but it was cheap enough ($13.27 at amazon.com) to make it worth taking a chance. Well, I am amazed! It is practically an enclopedia on basic music theory and even gets into the practical applications of theory to composition, harmony, and such. Moreover, the index is exhaustive, which makes it extremely convenient as a reference. Thanks to everyone who recommended it!
