identify tune please :)

Hello guys,
its mabe not the topic you find here often (and maybe doesnt belong here), but its the best forum for traditional irish music i could find.
Well I, just returned from beautifull Ireland with a tune I love very much, but dont know what the name of the tune is. Can you please help me with it?

Its about an English soldier, wounded I think, wich meets a 16 year old Irish girl who is in the resistance and is willing to lay here life for her cause.

Sorry I have no ‘real’ lines from the tune, but I hope you can halp me with identifing the tune.

Jane, I posted your question over in www.mudcat.org where the song mavens hang out. I’ve had wonderful luck there at getting answers to this sort of question. I’ll admit to one strike out so far, though. Let’s see what they come up with.

I think you might be refering to an Irish resistance song titled:

White, Orange and Green

It’s a GREAT “in-your-eye-get-the-hell-out-of-Ireland!!!” tune. :swear:

I have it on a CD, done by the Clancy Brothers (I think). When I find it I’ll let you know. :slight_smile:
