Hello!

Can anyone identify this flute:

?

No maker’s stamps or some other IDs. The owner just knows that it was made in France few years ago.

Maybe Stephane Morvan?
Why don’t you PM er22men, he should know.

It looks like german to me.
S.

Long foot without foot keys can’t be a german antique one, it’s certainly modern. Its holes are also too big for being german. Reminds me a bit of Gilles Lehart, but Lehart’s keys are different. Might be an early Ormiston, as the key arrangement of G# and long F keys remind me of his more recent models. The head joint and barrel reminds me of a Williams flute I once saw.

Looks like a flute by french maker Louis Jourdan.

Thanks!

It must be Louis Jourdan!

Bingo!
It seems there are many more french makers that I have even heard of
I like my Lehart a lot and I wonder what would be a Morvan and a Louis Jourdan’s like. Someone could write a review about it.

There’s a link to Jourdan’s website in The List. Morvan’s is currently off-line, unfortunately. Quite a few other French and/or Breton makers there too.

There seems to be popping up new French makers once every couple of months that I’ve never heard of, and I’m from Europe. Seems like a totally different market in France. Are they supplying the players from Brittany with great flutes without us “Irish” players knowing about it?

I really don’t think it’s Lehart though, the rings doesn’t look like copper.
