Why someone hasn’t designed a conical shaft of brass to fit a sweetone fipple.

Or sell "nickle’ plated replacement barrels.

This would be the greatest thing to me … my darn sweetones always rust.

AND if the fipple should get chewed by an ornery cat with whistle-induced hearing loss … then its only $5 for a new one.

Look, my wife thinks I’m nuts but throwing away a rusty whistle that has hours o’ love blown in can be a heart-wrenching affair.

And I truly love the sweetone feel and sound and Copeland’s fipple!

Once they rust (where do you live, if they rust like that?) just use steel wool to remove the paint and rust for a ‘natural’ appearance ike a Cooperman. Shouldn’t hurt the playability of the whistle.

And I’m too fond of em to like this… even at 5 bucks a pop.

No reason you can’t use steel wool on the insides. I do it all the time to clean up rust spots, polish tarnish and remove the paint spatters routinely found inside painted barrrels like Sweetones, Waltons and Feadogs. Personally, I think polishing out a barrel makes the whistle sound a little sweeter.
