My flute dropped onto the table today, caused by a clumsy Gabriel unmounting his pipes. ![]()
The low C key got twisted a bit and the small area of wood between the two foot key levers got a crack. Back home, when I took the foot joint apart to fix the lever, the piece of wood fell off completely.
I glued the wood back on with two-component adhesive, shaved the sides with a scalpel to remove excess glue and after three hours of work got the levers working again. The interlocking touches fit even better now.
I am happy now. And I certainly know why they abandoned the old foot key design… ![]()
