I repaired a footjoint

My flute dropped onto the table today, caused by a clumsy Gabriel unmounting his pipes.

The low C key got twisted a bit and the small area of wood between the two foot key levers got a crack. Back home, when I took the foot joint apart to fix the lever, the piece of wood fell off completely.

I glued the wood back on with two-component adhesive, shaved the sides with a scalpel to remove excess glue and after three hours of work got the levers working again. The interlocking touches fit even better now.

I am happy now. And I certainly know why they abandoned the old foot key design…

I’m off for sleep. It’s 3:22am now.

Good job putting her back together again! Go get some well deserved sleep.

Eric

Would you repair mine?

Good morning!

bogtrumpet, I guess there are people here on the board who are way more qualified for repair work than I am  But thanks for asking anyway!
