I need HELP

On a piece of my music it has (I think this is what it is called) phases. Like Vivace, Adagio, and Allegro. Could someone define them and can someone tell me if I am able to skip a phase and just play the last two so I can shorten it. please HELP!

Michelle,
these notations you can find explanations for almost anywhere on the internet.

If you are talking about making your ABC player play only some phrases; most players let you just highlight the section you want to play with your mouse, then press play, or F11 or whatever.

Besides this, I am not really sure what you are asking

Cheers,
E

Vivace, Allegro, Adagio on sheet music:
These are usually called “movements”, they are sections of a piece of music to be played in a certain manner.
Vivace means lively, allegro means slow, adagio means quick.

In classical music they often have a distinct character, so one could just play say the allegro movement of a piece. But doing so is just playing one piece of the music, which usually has three or four movements. So the music is somewhat incomplete.

Commercial classical radio stations love doing this: reducing the music to just the most popular movements. Its a matter of taste, but it was not intended by the composer, and it may feel as if important parts are missing.

Of course for your personal practice and enjoyment it does not matter which movements you play and which you leave out, if you so desire.

Oops, you reversed the last two.

Allegro is quick, adagio is slow.
