hi my name is jesse and i live in calgary and i need help desperately!!!
my boyfriend is a pro bag piper and his birthday was already on the 29th of July and i cant think of anything to get him!! his total passion is bag piping and i want what i am going to get him to be something he will really love!!!
the problem is that i only have $70 right now because i am only getting my job in the middle of August and then i can get him something costlyish. but right now i really just need suggestions on what to get him!!
If he plays highland pipes, perhaps you should be asking this question on a Scottish forum. For $70 you could sew up his kilt for him, just for the entertainment value. Or perhaps some fancy garters to keep those knee-high socks up when he’s parading.
hey,
im not going to waste my time here if people are just going to be rude to me!!
i havent had any experience with this kinda thing so cut me a little slack!!
i really dont see the use in you being so rude, because it really doesnt bug me!!!
but anyway, like i said i am getting a job soon so now i know that i guess i will need quite a bit more money then!
thank you… jesse
Is your boyfriend an uilleann piper or a highland piper? I would think a good economical gift for a musician would be some CD’s. Of course, if he has an extensive CD collection, he might already have alot of the good ones. One I could suggest is called “Piping in Ireland-A celebration of two traditions.” It has both highland and uillean piping so will be interesting to him no matter what he plays. Also not a CD he likely has since pipers tend to get CD’s that are by the big players of their own instrument. Another more scottish/european flavor CD would be the “Grand Concert of Piping” probably Vol 2 would have an interesting mix of different types of European pipes as well as scottish pipes. No irish pipes though. Or you could always get him a gift certificate for a big CD store. You could get either of the above titles online. Just search on the titles and you will come up with some specialty distributors that will have them. Good luck!

To quote National Public Radio personality Baxter Black, retired large animal veterinarian and cowboy poet:
“Beer is always a good idea.”
For irish Uilleann piping CDs, go to the music shop at uilleannobsession.com, there’s bound to be something lovely in there. Brian MacNamara’s new CD “Fort of the Jewels” is just out and it might be of interest to him.
Oh, but we are… mostly… well… in my opinion anyway… Although I’ve found one or two on this board in the last week that really have me questioning that… not only are some not nice, I think some are quite bizarre too…
That has nothing to do with the originator of this thread, so please, as someone else suggested, she should stay, she WILL find some entertainment and pleasure on this board!!
