Itās a bit hard giving an answer considering the number of fine whistleplayers we may not have heard.
I have a CD here that is about to be launched in a few weeks of MY favourite whistleplayer. Most of you wonāt even know the name.

I wouldnāt really expect you to answer this and possibly give away the surprise, , but is this player male or female?
Iām not that experienced at listening, but I would put in a word for Cathal McConnell. I have the first volume of his tutorial, and I have to say that what he does with some rather āeasyā tunes made him stand out in my mind. He didnāt make them real fancy, but he turned them into music that I really could not imagine being any better.
Female. And Iāve sat in her kitchen and have played tunes in C with her. She on my Sindt C, Peter on his C set, and I on the old Walton C. 
Okay, I have a guess, but I wonāt say it since itās not a terribly educated one. Have come across about three mentions and a couple little photographs about the person Iām thinking of and heard a clip I believe. All indicated she is very special. Will be fun to see if Iām right.
