I have a few questions about Mp3

Hi all,
I was just trying to record a song on my pennywhistle to send to a friend and there’s a lot of background noises, like sort of a fuzzy sound when I play it back. I’m using an e-mail service that has a recording thing to record. I was wondering if Mp3 recordings are clearer than regular recordings or if it just depends on the microphone. As well, do you have to pay to use Mp3?

Thanks,
Sara

Mp3 is a compressed audio format, thus it is of a lower quality than wave files and other such formats.

I can almost guarantee you that the problem isn’t the file format, but the microphone. Try playing your whistle closer to the microphone if you can’t/don’t want to get a new one.
