My Sindt D arrived on Thursday and I was allowed to play one scale on it. Then it was taken away to be wrapped for my Christmas present. Just as well that somethink nice happened as some swine stole my only warm jacket from the local pub during the farewell party for the Landlady and landlord. Swines. I do so need that fleece so I can go wheelchair curling. Christmas. Bah humbug.
Sorry to hear your bad news,Selkie. These things tend to knock our belief in human nature-maybe whoever did it was in such dire straits that they saw this as the only way of getting some warm clothing,i dunno,it’s just something that you would NOT consider doing in the normal course of events, if you had any conscience!ANYWAY,concentrate on more positive things-like that Sindt(!)What was it like? come-on,spill the beans! I need to know!(cos i’m expecting to wait another 3-4 months for mine!)>typo<

Selkie,
Sorry about your jacket, but lucky you for getting a Sindt for Christmas! It must be very difficult knowing what is under the tree, but not able to get your hands on it until Christmas morning. But, it will be worth the wait. Imagine all the fun you are going to have - Sindts are truly outstanding, beautiful instruments and I think they are a joy to play. Have a great whistling Christmas!
I got my first handmade whistle (an Abell d which is still my very favorite whistle) as a first anniversary present. It arrived about a month before the anniversary and he tried to keep it from me, but he gave in when I said “Come on, it FEELS like we’ve been married for much longer than a year!” Hee hee.

Kevin… The Sindt sounded lovely. It had to be practically torn from my fingers. I have several pieces of music planned for it.

I know this one, my Xmas present arrived in March by some strange circumstances and I have seen it twice since then just to make sure the wood is fine, it’s a Thin Weasel in A. Looking forward to finally be able to play it.

Good for you Selkie,ENJOY that whistle! Only 16 days to wait now! And COLIN,waiting since march to play your Thin weasel must require the patience of a saint! Of course, when you checked it from time to time,i ‘suppose’ you would have had to give it a little toot, just to,like,‘make sure’ it was o.k.!

Oh man…that must be sheer torture! It’s one thing to wait for a whistle on order and quite another to know it’s sitting right there in the house just waiting for your breath to give life to it! I MIGHT (maybe) be able to wait from now until Christmas in a similar situation, but since March??? Yikes! You must have amazing self-control! ![]()
