Hello C&F Folk!
I just got back from a week and a half of touring Hawaii with my band (Ka Ehu Kai). We had an excellent tour. Despite the small crowds, we still sold out of CDs (3 boxes) and had to have another box of CDs shipped to us.
Well, as the title of my post says, I finally met another whistle player! After 11+ years of playing whistle! Anyway, I found out that one of the workers at Bounty Music in Kahului, Maui (named Patrick) was a whistle player. I had a chance to show him my Burke composite D, and we played through “The Butterfly” a few times. He said that there’s a regular session at one of the Irish themed pubs in town every Sunday night. I told him about C&F and hope he checks in.
Oh, and the son of the man who makes the Maui Xaphoon also works at Bounty Music, though I didn’t get a chance to meet him.
Just wanted to share this milestone in my life with you all…
