I can quit any time I want...

Some of you are probably going to start worrying that I have some sort of disease - well I don’t; I just thought that you might like to see today’s whistle acquisition. Here is a sweet little whistle made by (turn your heads if you’re sensitive)…

…a recorder company. Adler Heinrich has been known for their recorders. I don’t own one, so I can’t speak for their recorders, but their whistle has a nice, strong tone (the same volume as my Overton). Very enjoyable to play. Tuneable. It is fairly well constructed and worth the $35 that I paid for it (I can’t say for certain, but it appears to be almost entirely machine made).

If you’re interested their home page is http://www.adler-heinrich.de/index_eng.html . They also have a mini-sax. Kind of cool. Knowing the political climate on the board, I had to think twice about sending you to a Recorder page, but I’ve always walked a little on the edge

Peace and happy playing,
Erik

Erik,
I am proud of you to take such a brave action as to admit that you have a whistle a bec or is that whistlo dolce? Is that it’s true colour or is the photo “computer enhanced” like the new Mars photo’s I saw in the paper the other day? Actually, I think that an instrument that plays well, with good strong tone (and has whistle fingering) and costs only $35 is a bargain! Good for you.

Mini Sax?

OK, mini clarinet  But, yes, it is a reed instrument. Even has a couple of keys. They say that it plays at a soprano recorder pitch, but we all know that just means a whistle pitch.

And that image is not computer enhanced. In fact, it’s the second purple whistle that I’ve got this month… I’m drawn to them.
