I just bought a brass Generation in D with a red fipple and a brass Waltons in D with a green fipple…the Waltons is VERY squeaky…and the Generation is a bit squeaky as well…I noticed newer ones do that…how do you get rid of that sound anyways?
But I listened to your advice about what the pros preferred…the brass Generation (despite the squeakyness) has a strong, sharp sound…much louder than my Clare, which is a good thing.

It’s absolutely lovely! I only was able to get the first section of notes, but if someone would be able to transcribe the song for me, I would be SO greatful!

Search the main C&F page about how to tweak a whistle. It’s easy and the whistle sounds great when you’re done.
If you aren’t satisfied with your tweak you can send your Generation to Jerry Freeman (he’a regular here, just type his name in a search). It will be permanently squeak free.
BTW, if you enjoyed the “Lunasa” track by the Corrs then you’ll love the band Lúnasa. They recorded that tune on their 2001 album The Merry Sisters of Fate only it’s called “Return From Fingal.”

If you REALLY want to tweak though, order a handful of cheap whistles, AND a Jerry tweaked gen as well. Then you’ll have something to compare your work to.
