We often have requests for score help - I’ve even initiated a few of them myself.
Tonight while bumming around the web, I just learned that you can actually download the entire Digital Traditions Folk Music Library into your own PC, music database and all. In it’s Windows version, it takes about 20MB of disk space, quite reasonable. Searchng it offline is a lot faster than searching online with a modem connection.
Just in case someone is interested, you can go to the Mudcat Cafe website to do the download.
I went over and looked. OOPS! Looks like one of those downloads that I’ll need to start after midnight - otherwise a 22MB download is about as likely to go through on a modem as a truck though my kitchen door.
Yowee, zounds! I just went to the site and downloaded it. It took about five minutes on my iMac (I’m on a cable modem) and then another two or three to unzip - maybe 15 if you leave your virus protecter on.
The tunes in bold have the sheet music with them and there are hundreds - maybe more as I haven’t had the time to view them all. What a find.
