One of the local music stores is having an after Christmas sale on the few whistles they stock. I picked up a Meg C to build the Generation Bb body/ Sweetone head hybrid I have read about in other threads.
I wrapped several turns of Teflon tape around the top of the Generation tube and twisted the Meg head on for a tight but easily adjustable fit.
What a different animal! Most of the scale sounds great, but it has lost much of the airy tone of the Generation head. I am used to needing a lot more air volume to play, so it seems very sensitive. Probably will get used to that.
Unfortunately, the bottom bell tone has a muddy, indistinct sound, very unlike the rich Bb the Generation head produced.
On the other hand, the third octave is very playable, complex and satisfying. Never have I seen a whistle so easy to play in the third octave. I did add a little blue putty as a filler inside the Meg mouthpiece. Some change there may help the bell tone.
Does this match what other people have experienced?
