As President Bush is getting off the helicopter in front of the White House, he has a baby pig under each arm. The Marine guard snaps to attention, salutes, and says: “Nice pigs, sir!” The President replies: “These are not pigs, these are authentic Texan Razorback Hogs. I got one for VP Cheney, and I got one for Defense Secretary Rumsfeld.” The Marine again snaps to attention, salutes, and replies, “Nice trade, sir!”

Bob

I deeply resent that.

Signed, a Texan Razorback hog

Looking at your avatar them pigs sure are big in Wisconsin

… you must be referring to my avatar, “the running of the dairy cow”

  • kind of a Wisconsin version of an old Pamplona tradition.

Heh, heh. If you’re going to retread old jokes you could at least make them make sense

The first time I heard that joke it was Clinton getting one pig for Hillary and one for Gore. That way it makes sense, because Clinton was from Arkansas and their mascot is the razorback hog.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a “Texas Razorback” - in fact, most Texans’d prolly poke you in the nose if you called 'em a razorback!

Goodness knows, much as I like Bush, he does enough stuff to keep real comedians in material without their needing to recycle jokes that don’t make sense in the altered context…

OK – how about “These are not just pigs; these are authentic south Texas wild javalina pigs. I got one for each of the twins.”

And the Marine says . . . . etc.

I thought a Texas razorback was a bowl of truckstop chilli. Would that have been a nice trade?

Well, by this standard, nobody should ever tell a joke again since the idea behind it has been used by someone somewhere in human history.

I do agree that Texas razorbacks don’t make sense, but I was just passing along what a friend sent me.
