I started a prescription recently that comes with a little porous barrel in the bottle (labeled “sorbicap”). i had rightly assumed that they are for controlling humidity in the bottle. Whenever i finish a bottle off, i throw the little barrel in my pipecase. figure, every little bit helps, no?
Sure, if you’re concerned with there being too much moisture in your case. be careful not to dry things out too much, though, as I’m pretty sure those things only absorb moisture, not release it.
i’ll have to find out if previously absorbed moisture is released when moisture in the air drops below moisture leven in the canister. good thought!
