Humidor - How to use it!

After some reflections I’m choosing to buy a nice Humidor
something like http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250387298063
I check that Humidity in italy is about 30-35%
and I heard about 55 -60% would be a nice level for flutes
(but please correct me if I’m wrong!)

now the question is:
since I get my new Humidor, (and put my flutes in it!)
how can I change and control the Humidity levels?

I saw 2 different kinds of water containers
a sponge one, and a Crystals one.
any one have experiences with those?

Hi radcliff,
I got one of these http://www.humistat.com/
It was mentioned in a previous thread. It’s cheap and efficient.

I think that I will buy a complete case+humidors,
I don’t want to start bulding a case-exhibitor by my own…
thanks for the link anyway

how you controll the level of humidity in you case?
yes adding more HUMISTATs? or what?

I don’t use a humidor, but a tupperware container. I have no idea whether a humidor is more or less air tight. I have about four humidifiers, two from porous plastic, one that’s some kind of porous stuff, and one that’s just a small jar with holes in the lid that you can open and close. I control the humidity pretty well, within +/-5%, by how many humidifiers I refill and how often I do it.
