Thanks to to all who gave me advise on my last post (Newbie advice wanted). I finally decided on the Howard low D and went to pick it up from the man himself today. Brian and his wife made me very welcome they are a very warm and friendly couple.Brian gave me a taste of what my whistle will sound like ’ When ’ i have learnt to play it, i did manage a couple of notes my self
. I opted for the Mettallic Blue colour which is very nice (pictures do not do them justice),it is well constructed and as a lovely tone. I have had a few blows on it since getting home and i am very good at getting shrieks and other high pitched ear piercing noises out of it
. The wife has’nt complained yet but its early doors and the ear plugs are on order
. Once again thanks to everyone.
ps If you read this Brian i’ll see you Wednesday.
Congrats - I certainly like my Howard quite a bit.
Don’t let the shrieks discourage you - once you’ve got piper’s grip down, I think you’ll find that the Howard is one of the most non-shrieky whistles going.
