How to play low C

My group plays Tommy Bhetty’s Waltz, which I’d like to learn. It has a low C in the B part. The tune itself is in G, so I assume it’s OK to play in on my High D whistle, but then how to accomodate that low C?

Thanks for any wisdom.

The way it shows up in that tune, before a jump to high B,
you can safely take it up an octave. It’ll probably sound
better that way, in my opinion. You could even make it a
second-octave C, I’d think. Or you could probably replace
it with an F# or G in either octave, depending on what
chord your accompanist is playing at the time.
