so i saw a keyless de Keyser in a shop today in tuscon and tried it out; not bad (keeping my McGee though
anyway, they’re asking $495 for it; is that reasonable? he said it’s “ebony” wood; i guess blackwood, no scratches on it (that i saw) a little hard to assemble (tenon joints really tight) but has a tuning slide on extended foot joint…
I haven’t seen any recently (I wasn’t looking) but over the past ten years or so they were for sale, new, in shops here around the €350-400 mark. I don’t know what he’d charge direct from the workshop.
Hmmm and there’s me looking for offers over £200 for mine. Think I had better edit my post and up the asking price a bit.
As it has been lying out of its box I have tended to pick it up and play it recently. It is a very nice flute indeed. As I mentioned in my Ad, probably not a beginners flute.
