How many Tipples is enough?

I’m looking to buy another flute to go with my D Tipple, and I found myself at Doug’s website looking over his newer offerings, and I am thinking about getting another D, this time in three pieces with the lip plate and the wedge.

How many of you have more than one Tipple flute in your collection?

How many is too many Tipple flutes? :open_mouth:

They’re lots of fun; I’ve really enjoyed the one I own, and I’m even beginning to sound pretty good on it (at least when no one else is around!)

With best regards,

Stephen

Try other keys.

Get one in F, Eb and Bb.

Good keys to have and you’ll enjoy them.

Oh, and I no longer own any Tipples as they hold their resale value.

I know the answer to that question. You’re probably thinking that I am going to say that the sky is the limit, and you are right.

Actually, my dream is that someday, when I move to Palm Springs and do nothing but rock in my lazy boy rocker, I will see people frantically bidding for my flutes on ebay like they do for Olwell bamboo flutes.

My uncle Orville would say something like that, and his wife, my aunt Esther, would say, “In your dreams!”, just to get him back to reality.

The possibilities are limited only by your own imagination. My Eflat Tipple is a handy travel companion. It’s light, compact (broken down into its three pieces), and pretty much indestructible. My Tipple G fits in the whistle bag and provides a fun alternative to a C whistle. Doug, do you offer a discount if Stephen wants to buy the whole set?

I only have three  , D, E and F. The E is handy and the F is just fun!

I have three, well, four if you count the ‘D’ I bought for my son. Currently in my possession are a Tipple ‘C’ ( which I happen to absolutely love- played it with a ‘C’ flat set of pipes at the pipers’ convention this weekend!), a ‘B’ which I also love, and a ‘B’ flat, which is unfortunately, too big for my hands to comfortably play.
