I wondered the same thing last time i watched it… ![]()
there is a bit of that here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp-RndJFKz0
Denny that’s a great set of videos. I’m glad there are subtitles. Thanks much
Steve
I am not sure if this is what you may have been watching. The recorder, object of scorn here that they are, is a relative of the whistle. They are conceptually similar and can share construction details.

Or this may amuse you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hODT_WkTkk
Beyond videos…If you are interested in making whistles, or just want to know how it’s done there are several sources of good information. Daniel Bingamon has written a whistle maker’s anthology.

Glenn Schultz, of Thin Weasel and Water Weasel fame, wrote a fine article for the Woodwind Quarterly in 1996 describing how he made his whistles. Reprints are available here: http://www.musictrader.com/wwqindex.html#8
And of course I should mention our friend Guido Gonzato’s Low Tech whistle website as well.

There are other printed resources and of course much is available on the Internet as well.
Feadoggie
Thanks Feadoggie…Denny’s link was kind of what I was looking for. It was really cool to watch Hammy Hamilton work on his stuff…thanks
steve
And Hammy’s low whistles are really good too. My Low D is probably the very best low whistle I have and it wasn’t that expensive…
Cheers,
