How do you cross-finger C nat on an Olwell Pratten?

This is directed to anybody who plays these.
How do you do this? Best, Jim

just 0xx 000

second octave: 0xx xx0

Best,

I’ll have to try Blayne’s method for 2nd 8ve Cnat. I usually use:

OXO OOO

For the first octave just two fingers.
For the second octave Aran O. recommends 0X0XX0.
But I’ve found that OXOOOO is just as good…well, close enough for a reel. … and easier.

:astonished: Holy smokes Jim, you got an Olwell Pratten?!!! Jeez I must have missed that. You must have ordered that when you were just a kid  . Seems like everyone is playing Prattens now. Have you already done a review of it somewhere? Just to lazy to look. Anyway hope you love it. I got reunited with your tape yesterday having lost it to a bottomless box for months and I have actually been playing a few of your tunes and not half bad either.

Take care

Tom

Hi, Tom, Yes I got one before the summer and I’ve
been getting to figure it out.

I often play C nat
in the first octave 0X0XXX, but that doesn’t seem
to be in tune on the Olwell. It works OK in the second octave,
but I’m really interested in the fingerings you’all
have posted. Will try them in the morning.
Thanks to all, Jim
