Gee, whaddaya think the Cards’ chances are to come back from 3-1? Maybe about the same as the Angels?

I’m really looking forward to an Astros-White Sox series. There’ll be a bunch of 1-0 and 2-1 games, I bet. A lot of small ball.

Well the Cards came back last night and won the game. The clerk over at the hardware store knows what the Astros manger should have done.
And the first thing I thought about is why is this guy a clerk in a hardware store, and the astros manger at the game. I almost told him that but the store is close and I do like thier hardware. Anyway, there is still another game and a chance to win.

I’d prefer a Cardinals-White Sox myself. Although agree with your low score, tight games point. The Cards are full of gusto heading back to Busch Stadium now. At 10.30 last night I was about to eat my hat but Puholes did a Ronnie Whelan and put them back in the game. If I was an Astros fan I’d be a nervous one…

Nervous is not the adjective I would use. I could be excited about seeing another Astros game though. If they had won last night that might have made it seem easy. But if they have to go all seven games with some more over time, it will make them a better team. Every one likes their team to win big. But when the teams are matched and they must play to the edge, That’s exciting to watch.

The bookies are the ones who get nervous.

I’m not a full-fledged Astros fan, but, yeah, I am nervous and my words above may come back to haunt me. The Cards did beat Clemens, Pettitte, and Oswalt three games in a row earlier this year.

True, and we may see it again tonight.

True again, when you get to this level, its the finest teams pitched against each other which sometimes can result in very tense but low scoring games. But, and i hate to say it, whichever team wins this series will have a tough battle against a very well rested White Sox.

This is gonna be a great series, and what a story. The Astros have never been in a series, while the White Sox haven’t been in a series since before the Astros (or even the Colt-45’s) existed. I think the Astros will be tough to beat. Oswalt’s been huge, the wild-card team has won the last three series, the White Sox have had two easy series and a lot of down time, and Bagwell can DH in Chicago. OTOH, many of the White Sox hitters know Pettitte and Clemens, although Pettitte and Clemens did pretty damn well in the AL.

Last night the sox won 5 to 4. Tonight in the 7th inning the Sox slammed one into the stands with the bases loaded and it’s now Astros 4 and the Sox 6. Another sad day in Houston. :sniffle:

It’s 2-0 Sox but they’re going to Texas for game 3. We’ll see.
