Once again the newbie must come before the message board of wisdom. I made a low G whistle using the instructions found at http://www.ehhs.cmich.edu/~dhavlena/low-d.htm but my whistle is way to airy, any ideas how to tweak it so its less airy? in fact, any ideas how to tweak any whistle so its less airy?
Switchfoot,
Off the top of my head, try:
- Narrowing the windway height
- Narrow the window legnth
- Narrow the window width
- Reposition the “lip” in relation to the windway.
These thing may lower the volume, though. Everything is a trade-off. I had to make 6 whistles before I figured out how to make a good one.
Best of luck,
Gary
Try lifting the blade up a bit and make sure everything is smooth in the airway as a bit of metal sticking out can compromise the sound.
Gary’s tips are right on the money so give them a try!
Best of luck,
Sandy
