I always figure that if a story inspires two threads on C&F, it’s a good sign that it was (a) a really big story (b) the kind of thing Chiffer’s would talk about.
A few years ago, an old hospital burned down in my home community, and a color photo was run in the Sunday paper. Some folks started saying that an image of the Virgin Mary could be seen in the flames, while others wrote in to say “no, it was Jesus.” I sort of suspected that who one saw in the flames told as much about the person looking at the picture as it did about what was actually in the picture itself. All I saw in the picture was an old building in flames.
Bet you were cheesed off when you did see it though…
