Holy Cow, It's August!!!

Sorry for the outburst folks, but sheesh - where does the time go??? Seems like just a few weeks ago that I was buried under 3 feet of snow in Pennsylvania.

Sherman, Set the Wayback Machine!

Yeah, I can’t believe it either. I work in a school office so I have to go back to work next week! It seems like just a couple of weeks ago I was making big plans for what I wanted to accomplish over the summer. I didn’t get much done. Never do.

I can believe it! I’ve been preg checking cows in 110 degree heat all week.

Bring on October!

Doc

It’s winter here in Sydney, Aus … I am busy yelling “roll on summer” still! Except I’ll prolly have moved on by then, somewhere promising like Antartica. shivers

But yeah, this whole August thing has snuck up on me. I hate how the time I’ve lived already weighs heavy, so that time yet to come moves more quickly. What happened to the months and months of summer holiday I used to enjoy as a little’un in England..? (All 6 weeks of it.)

They are still here (1/2" of rain yesterday  )

…but I don’t care 7 1/4 hours and I’m on holiday !! this time tomorrow I’ll be sat whistling on Pollin Beach by Oldshore Beg - now ther’s one for you to find on the map!

Richard.

Oldshore Beg. Coords 58N 5W. Sutherland County, Highlands, Scotland.

Still haven’t found a decent map though.

Kinlochbervie then North a tad - used to holiday there as a little 'un.

Proving that Doc really knows how to roll up his sleeves and work! Nyuk. (sorry, an “inside” rancher joke). Doc, do you think the un-informed really want to know???

Put it this way: no ultrasound on the range.

I know what you mean - the older we get the faster time goes. OTOH, look at it this way - getting old may have its drawbacks but it does beat the alternative.

What Chuck, you mean getting younger?  Heck, I’d go for that.

Who was it that recently said “Growing old isn’t for sissies.” ?

Oh my aching back. And knees. And hands. And…

Loren

That’s exactly the phrase I use when folks complain about upcoming birthdays, etc. My thought is- it’s better to be having birthdays than not be able to.

All the Best

Tom

So Doc do you use the “special” glove or go “naturale”. Just don’t forget to take off your watch, trust me. Ahh! fond memories of childhood. Ranks right up there with the smell of a dehorning iron in use.

Mark V.

Happy Lughnasa to everyone.

Ron

Last Friday I took my older son to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things he needed for a camping trip. He saw the big display in the front of the store with all the notebooks, pencil boxes, etc. and just fell to pieces! Back to school sale! The poor kid.

Ahhh yes… I know the feeling…- of course if you’re lucky it’s cows and not heifers, and if you’re VERY lucky, it’s dairy cows and not beef cows.

Ha Ha! Just be glad your not preg checking our seasonal herd. 115 Jersey and Jersey/Crosses in one day usually in middle to late November! Some times I can’t feel my fingers to hold the pen to record the dates. At least the vet has one warm hand and arm! :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers,
Kathy

LOL! Hey, Castlewood? Hmmm. How close is that to Woodbridge?

Little John

Wow. So far everybody’s covering cows and the heat (August) or the lack of it (Aussie August, November {which is a month, so that counts}). All very stable and on-topic for a change. Nobody’s talked about religion yet, though, or gotten all holier-than-thou about something (see first word in thread title).

…I guess I posted too late.

Too late! Yes! Right ho. Must have dosed off there. Don’t shoot 'til you see the whites of their eyes!!!
