Sometime soon, the results of further scientific testing should establish whether or not hobbits have really been discovered. When I came to the University of Wollongong, I had no idea that my very own university would play such a central a role in the discovery of the little people. (What’s all the fuss about; my grandmother told me about the little people years ago.) But still there are sceptics. And what a fine bunch of scientific rogues they turn out to be. Here’s some of the background:
Hobbits–people only a metre tall with brains the size of grapefruits who hunted pygmy elephants and giant rats and survived until at least 12,000 years ago.
Seems like we discussed this last year. I like them. Full of mischief. They’d steal your moonshine.
They’re the guys. The fuss about ownership of the bones is new I think. A comparison with a modern microcephalic skull has just been done and the results are due to be announced soon. That won’t settle the controversy but it will be the next move.
I saw a debate about this on TV last night. The ‘new species’ advocate won hands down. The other guy simply didn’t answer the critical questions put to him and his retorts were pathetic if, indeed, he really had strong evidence for his view.
