Hind Ocarinas are...

…amazing!
I wish i would’ve known about these earlier. I have a mountain polycarbonate ocarina ($25, C) that i like, and actually has one note higher range (goes up to the 3rd above the octave, E in the C ocarina); however, the Hinds that i recently got on the used board (Bb and F, walnut) are simply amazing.
they do retail for something like $60-80, and are well worth it. craftsmanship, tone and more importantly intonation is all excellent. compared to the mountain oc, it does have one less note, only goes up to the 9th (these are inline, the sweet potatoes have a bigger range).
anyway, check them out if you are interested in a nice inline ocarina.

I couldn’t agree more. I have the walnut tenor in F and the double in C/F that plays harmony with itself. Wonderful tone, good playability, dead-on intonation. They are limited in range, but they are ocarinas after all.
