Hi, guys. It’s been a while! I don’t play or sing in public anymore, or I haven’t for a couple of years, anyway. We’re pretty busy raising children and running the jewelry business, plus we’re expecting a third baby now. But I still take out the instruments fairly regularly, and my kids dance to the tunes. I realized that I have moved 5 times since the beginning of the C&F forums. Wow. We’ve been in our house in Woodstock for about a year and a quarter and we’ll be here for a good, long time. Joey (our daughter) is 5 now and about to start kindergarten. Linus is almost 3, and he is quite a lot of fun for Joey, Dan and me. My life is quiet and good, and I would like to check in to say hello to some old friends here.

what you’ve always wanted. Most pleased. Congratulations on the children. Wonderful.
Judy and I are in Chapel Hill NC, visiting scholars in the philosophy department at UNC this semester.
UNC has an extraordinarily good faculty. We’ve rented a cheap apartment near
the campus and walk in to seminars. We’ve been too busy to check into
local sessions yet. It’s Judy’s half-sabbatical and we’re pretending
to be grad students. We usually do this when she has time off. It’s a nice change from St. Louis
(we’ve sublet our place there).
It’s very green here, and we get to swim everyday.
Jim, it sounds like a nice time for you and Judy! Do you know Helen Spielman? She is a flute player and counselor of issues surrounding (flute) performance anxiety. She lives in Chapel Hill and I think she works with students at UNC (and adults in the general area).
Roland, great to “see” you! Please send me warmest regards to Lesley! I am not on the board often (I only check it once every several months, and even then only the first page of a forum or two), so I have fallen out of the loop on Lesley’s health. I hope she’s doing well.

I don’t know JessieK, I just wanted to say that a nice warmth came to my heart just by reading these old “friends” meeting each other again here…in the magical C&F.
Reg, sorry I didn’t answer earlier…yes, we are very lucky in the jewelry business. My jewelry is made from coins, and the line was recently picked up by the US Mint gift shops in Philadelphia and Denver. Our customers are loyal, and we’ve been able to grow the business nicely in the last few years, especially since Dan quit his corporate career.
Hi, Byll! I am 33, but Dan is 51. He jokes that playing Hop on Pop at 50+ is no picnic, but the rest of it is.

Hi Jessie it is good to hear from you again. I don’t post here as often anymore either. We are now adding up our great grandchildren. We are up to 13 + 1 in the next week or so. Glad to hear all is well.
A rare visit here by me has by chance coincided with a similar visit by yourself, and I’m pleased to be able to say hello to you, remembering those days when we were both more involved here. I’m glad to learn that life is going well for you and yours.
As for your controversial posts in years gone by, I seem to recall quite enjoying some of your contributions. I wonder if things ever get as interesting around here these days?
Hi, Ron (great grandchildren, wow!) and Mick! I thought to come here today because I recently got myself into a pickle over in a pregnancy forum, telling my opinions on what is or is not irresponsible during pregnancy.
Nice to see you back for a bit. I miss your forthright and generally thorough reviews of whistles.
Curious to know if you’ve tried any of the newer whistles that are out and about–specifically the Reviol Low whistles or the OZ whistle. Anything else?
