Hi,
I’m Angelbelle and I’m 15. I bought a Feadog in D at Busch Gardens Amusement park, and am almost through the training book that came with the whistle. I have always been in love with Ireland, everything about it! And since I couldn’t take Irish Step dancing quite yet, I thought the whistle could be the next best thing. And I was right, I love it! I can’t wait to learn more.
This message was basically introducing myself, but if anyone wants to talk write back!
Always,
Angelbelle =)
Welcome to the board. If you count yourself a whistle fanatic, you’ve come to the right place.
Welcome Angelbelle.
Glad you’re enjoying your music and courageous enough to join the rest of us nuts here at C&F.
Since your from VA, I thought you might be interested in looking into the Northern](http://www.geocities.com/novairishsession/index.html%3ENorthern) Va Irish Sessions web site. They may have some information on Irish music available in your area.
Welcome and …

hey,
Thanks! Unfortunately, I live in the Hampton Roads area and Fairfax is too far away for me. However the site also had some information that I’m positive will be helpful for me! Thanks again!
Always,
Angelbelle
In reply to Cinead: Yes, i think i am becoming a whistle fanatic. =) I love the message board.
Well, Welcome Angelbelle!! I’m sure you’ll find us a fun-loving lot, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy your “stay.”
Enjoy the music!
All the Best,
Heather
Welcome to the funnest looney bin around, most of us are really nifty human beings…
Be careful, though, there is some evidence that WhOA is contagious, and is primarily spread via the Internet. I had about gotten over my case till I discovered C&F.
Yes be careful, I didn’t know how many whistles I didn’t have till I found this place. Yikes!
Welcome! I too am a teenager and an irish dancer. Once you start dancing you’ll find knowing the how to play the music is a big, as in HUGE, help. Let me know if you need any tips when you start dancing.
Caryn
Caryn, you’re an Irish dancer too?? Cool! That’s what started me on the whistle. I injured myself and was going stir crazy… went down hill from there… ![]()
So, what’s your fav. dance?
My fav. would have to be treble (tip) reel, but I really suck at the rythem. I also love slip jig and reel.
What’s your fav. dance?
Caryn
Welcome! I too, am new and have been fifteen before. Great signature, by the way… maybe I’ll go dig up a new one…
When I was dancing, I loved the Slip Jig and the Single Jig. So much fun. I really disliked the Reels… but playing the music, on the other hand, is always fun.
Welcome Angelbelle,
you’ll find some amazingly helpful & nice people here, and knowledgeable too!
I would never have got into the whistle so much without this fun forum, so keep an eye on the threads, and have fun whistling!!
Martin
Hey everybody,
This is the nicest message board I’ve ever been too! =) Since I got so involved with Drama in school, I wouldn’t be able to take Irish Step Dancing then, so I’ll probably be taking it over the summer next year hopefully. Even if I can’t then I’ll manage to get it in somehow! Haha, you should have seen me at Busch Gardens watching the “Irish Thunder” show! I was sitting there with this huge idiot smile on my face, mesmerized by their feet (basically staring at them), and tapping my foot to the beat. sigh, good times good times. =P I could have just stayed in that section of the park all day.
I love the whistle though. I’m still working on reading the music, and getting those high notes, and some other ones that are giving me trouble, not to squeak. I need to work on my air flow a lot. I’m just so excited! whooh! Lol, sorry.
Bye!
Angelbelle
If anyone wants to IM me or email me, they can, bye!
Angelbelle,
Welcome to the only board you’ll ever need as a whistler!
Mr. Wisely, the Undisputable Himself, has done more for Irish whistlers than Ghandhi ever did in starting this community. [What, you mean Ghandhi never played whistle?!?]
I check this board every day (don’t always post) and there’s always some little morsel to consider, or an interesting thread.
You’ll discover that whistlers come in all shapes, sizes, temperaments, vocations, avocations, and are geographically dispersed all over the world!
Whistlers rule!!!
Anyway, another site I find invaluable is Brother](http://www.rogermillington.com/siamsa/brosteve/index.html%22%3EBrother) Steve’s website (he is SteveJ on the board). Check out the site!
The URL (in case the link above doesn’t work) is: http://www.rogermillington.com/siamsa/brosteve/index.html.
Again, welcome to the board an our happy “little family.”
Tom

That’s cool.
I’m 15 too. It’s not a bad age. During summer, at least…
What’s your s/n?
-Ross
hey ross,
yeah, 15’s a good age especially during summer, haha. I get my permit in October though, whoohoo! So that’s something to look forward to in the school year at least. =) My screen name’s rtherbeonstage05. You can just click the little aol icon at the bottom of my post though, and that will send a message to me. I’m having fun with my whistle, my brother keeps yelling at me because I still squeak a lot. I have to watch myself with throwing it at him! I have been forced to go to my room and play many times. =P Oh well, I like it! Right now I’m learning the tune “Farewell” from the “Whistler’s Workshop” website. I’m mainly playing it by ear. Anyways, I have to go do a summer assignment for one of my classes, ugh, so ttyl!
Bye!
Angelbelle =)
