I work as the General Manager at The Clarke Tinwhistle Co. Ltd, and have been amused reading some of the posts including the vomit edition! not one that we do due to getting through customs due to the small
This is a great place you all have, I hope to converse in time with many of you.
No! Don’t listen to him! Concentrate research and development on the vomit whistle! That’s what everyone is clamoring for! They talk about it night and day here!
Yeah. Maybe with some extra thick paint on it. It may just be the ones I’ve had, but it seems that a good thick coat of paint really improves the sound.
Different colors might be cool too.
I put a D sweetone mouthpiece on a Bb gen tube. You have to cut off about 1/4 inch and use some tape, but it makes a very servicable whistle with a focused yet chiffy tone. Low air, but no lower than some other whistles.
Wished I had saved my C sweetone to try it with.
Welcome Josh. This is a quite amusing and fun place to be . I asked a simple question about woodstocks, and now we are obsessed with woodstocks/clarkes/megs . It’s only on the internet that you can talk about an instrument, and then a high up from the company that makes the instruments casually comes along to give input. Cool! I know you’ll have fun here. Are you ever going to drop by the chatroom? I’m a regular on there, but I’ve been away for awhile, as I’ve been using public computers for all my internet stuff, as my computer has a trojan on it !
I do visit the chatroom, hope to be on it later, thing is I have to remember that I am 6-8 hours in front of most on this board!! as for trojans what a pain.
