Hi, everybody.

Howdy folks. Still pluggin’ away at stuff around here, and so far the dent in the wall is growing only slightly faster than the bruise on my forehead. So it will be a while before I can come back regularly.

BUT…I saw this today and immediately thought I had to post it here. Seems a lady found a young lion that had escaped from somewhere. It was sick, starving, and in pretty bad shape. She nursed it back to health while looking for a zoo to come and get it.

A few years later she came to the zoo to visit her old pal.

This sort of made my day.

Hi Tom!

That’s a great video. It reminds me of a documentary I watched a year or two ago about a woman who cared for chimps that had been raised in zoos, as pets, or otherwise mistreated. She eventually turned them over to a place (I don’t recall where) where they lived on a large sanctuary island in a lake and were cared for by other people. She didn’t see them for some five years or so. She was filmed coming to the island to see the chimps. The reaction of the chimps is amazing and emotional. They recognize her as she is crossing the water in the boat and run onto the dock, arms stretched out to her as far as they can reach. Animals are more intelligent than we give them credit for.

Nice to hear from you!

Susan

ah, WOW!

note: Firefox didn’t do well, I used IE tab and it was fine.

That’s one heart warming video.

That was great. Here is a great book to read. The librarians at our public library had it on a shelf so that the cover could be seen. I saw the the cover and had to read it. I thanked the librarians. The book can be had at amazon.com

Brings sweet tears to the eyes. Sheer love can cross such boundaries!

Cute pussycat! I like pussycats.

Scientists will tell you that there is much less difference between a house cat and a lion genetically than there is between, say a Pug and a Great Dane. This is just a pussycat being a pussycat. Still a nice video.

Small pussycats are less dangerous than big ones when they get in the playful mood, and much less dangerous if they get angry when you rub their tummy the wrong way…

You have obviously not met “Lace”. Her ‘come hither… pet me…’ is a ruse of the most dangerous kind.

That’s it–The look of unashamed, eyes-closed, absolute pure delight on that lion’s face at meeting his old friend.

My favorite part of the new Indiana Jones movie was when Indy first saw Marion. He got the same look on his face.

Everyone should have one friend, somewhere in the world, that they would be that happy to see again. Then there’s always something joyful to think about.

Oh gee! How lovely. Thanks.
