He's (almost) home!!!!

Just got a phone call - the USS Truman is currently off of Jacksonville, FL. After 7 months away, my son is back in US waters, and will be in port Wed! He’ll be home on leave the end of June!!!

Thanks to all of you that kept him in your prayers and thoughts the past months!

yow…
That’s quite a wonderful relief!

So, what are you cooking for him?

Wonderful! Can’t even imagine how excited you must be.

well, we still “owe” him Thanksgiving dinner! He didn’t get it on the Truman because he works night shift - it was all gone by the time he got up!
He’s also requested Tom’s grilled pork chops.

I’ll also make him some cookies, etc. Nate is allergic to milk, so he can’t have many ready made baked goods.

Lovely news, just lovely. Savor every moment…

Yaaaay! I know that is a load off your mind!

That’s great news! You must be so happy and relieved!

I’m happy for you, too! Enjoy!!

OH Missy! I’m so happy for you!!!

Nothing beats the relief of knowing that your kids are taken down a knotch on the worry meter. I know you are excited to see him back home!

Good news.

Have any big plans? Does he deploy again any time soon?

I’m so happy for you Missy, I can only imagine the worry you’ve been through. Life is good now

Well, believe it or not, we’ll be in Bardstown for part of his leave!!! You would think the Navy would plan things better, wouldn’t you?

As to being deployed again, I know the ship is going into Portsmouth for the next 6 months or so, but who knows after January. By that time, if he doesn’t re-up, Nate will only have 8 more months to go.
