Hervieux, Glet, and Rieux

Anyone have a flute by this maker?

I’ve a keyless one; Rieux is the town, makers are Hervieux & Glet.

Good middle-range flute, in ebony, so heavy.

The G# key arrangement is most bizzare! I guess it works…

Quelle bizarre? Mais c’est typiquement français !

Not typically French. Typically, the C key has an Omega-shaped bump in it to permit the G# shaft to run below it. In this version, it’s the G# that jumps the C. But the principle is the same - both avoid the keys attempting to occupy the same chunk of the space-time continuum. A good thing.

no es mucha imaginiff !

And here I thought it was Donald Duck’s nephews, in French.

Sacre blue ! Merci pour la clarification.

I got one, key of D. Heavy as an old billy club, but I like it. Plays pretty easy. Made of coccobolo. Sometimes a flute just feels right, even if it is not perfect. Although feeling right and being perfect would be great too.
