Here's what I'm doing tomorrow evening

If any of you happens to find yourself in the area tomorrow evening, and likes good choral music (and good gin), Calvary’s the place to be. I’m singing alto in the choir, as usual.

Please have a great time! But still unbelievably cruel. I just finished checking with Virginia’s ABC they won’t order me any Sarticious Gin, even with the prescription  I guess I’m stuck with Beefeaters and Citadelle :sniffle: Hey do all Episcopalians have these things? Hummmm :pint:

Na…not “GinSings” anyway. That’s the brainchild of one of our choristers and her husband. The first two we actually held in the Sarticious distillery (which was really cool…“shabby chic,” with a great acoustic!), but liquor laws made it increasingly difficult to actually SERVE gin there, so last year we moved it to our parish hall.

It is pretty common though, at least in England and Canada, for Anglican choirs to get together for G&Ts after rehearsal (how common it is in the U.S., I have no idea, but our choirmaster is from Canada). We always have a little get-together at our choirmaster’s house after our Wednesday night rehearsals: G&T (or soft drinks for those who don’t or can’t have the gin), some snacks, and good conversation. I think, to be honest, it’s one reason we sing so well together…we’re also friends, which is something those weekly gatherings cement.

No Sarticious?! Is mór an trua é sin! You can at least get Bombay Sapphire though, can’t you? Or Tanqueray? Anything’s better than Beefeater!

In Canada, the choristers call gin “panty stripper”.
